Australians David and Tanya have made the choice to try and live an extrodinary life. They have worked for the last two years to simplfy their lives and pack up everything into two backpacks and are going to set off to walk the world in November 2017.
This isn't a decision they have taken lightly. David and Tanya believe that by simplifying their lives and concentrating on what's important (giving, connection, learning, acceptance) they believe they will be able to make a difference in other people's lives, and inspire others in their own small way.
Over the next 12 months they will be completing three treks in different countries.
Trek 1 - New Zealand Te Araroa, is a 3000km trek from the top of the North Island to the very bottom of the South Island.
Trek 2 - 88 Temples Pilgramage around the Island of Shikoku in Japan, a distance of 1200kms taking around 4 - 6 weeks.
Trek 3 - The Camino de Rome, 2000kms over 3 months trekking through the battlefields of France and over the Swiss Alps culminating in the Vatican City.
They would like to support Smiling Mind as they feel that walking is a form of mindfulness in itself. Walking is simple and is something that you can do without judgement and with openess and curiosity. David and Tanya have made a commitment to supporting Smiling Mind as they believe in our programs and the need to raise awareness about the importance of mindfulness and the benefits it brings to people's lives.
Smiling Mind would like to thank David and Tanya and we wish them the very best on their exciting journey ahead.
