The Steve Waugh Foundation provides life-changing support and champions stories of those living with rare diseases. Up to one in ten Australians are affected by a rare disease, over 400,000 are children. Many feel isolated. A major motivation behind the Foundation is that no one should have to stand alone; everyone needs a team to support them. The foundation is ‘somewhere to turn’.
Generous donations go directly to life-changing Individual grants for medicine, specialised equipment, treatment and items that improve quality of life for a child affected by a rare disease. To date, the Foundation has supported over 238 different rare diseases and over 1,454 individuals through grants and programs.
