Sydney Exlorers are a bushwalking group gearing up for a series of walks throughout December to raise funds for the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife to help combat Devil Tumour Facial Disease.

We are experienced bushwalkers and will be taking on multi-day group hikes through rugged wilderness areas in Tasmania, culminating in a visit to a facility that is working hard to eradicate the devastating disease that is threatening the survival of the iconic and endangered Tasmanian Devil.

DTFD is a fatal cancer transmitted between Devils and first shows as tumours on the face. The Devils affected by the disease will die within 3 to 5 months. While there has been great effort made to find a treatment and cure, and to isolate healthy animals so they don't become infected, more work requires more money!

Please support our efforts to raise public awareness of the crucial need for Devil tumour research with a generous donation to our bushwalkers who are taking on this challenge.

Funds will go to a program managed by the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife, a not for profit conservation organisation that purchases and preserves land to add to National Parks and funds on-ground projects to help protect our vulnerable native wildlife.

We plan to hold some activities leading up to and following the walk - check this page for details in the coming months!

Tassie Devils need our help - please share this link with your friends and family and encourage everyone to help us make a difference to their Devilish future.
